To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.

Welcome to passports & passions!

Hi! I am Lauren, or, as most people call me, LK. I was born and raised in Surf City aka Huntington Beach, California. I may have the quintessential blonde hair and blue eyes to go along with the beach vibes, but those aren’t the only things that define me.

I am a USC alumna (#FTFO), who has a vast curiosity for everything that surrounds me. During the best four years of my life (aka college), I had the opportunity to leave the sand and surf to travel and live abroad in several areas of the world. I pursued my passion for Spanish while studying abroad in Madrid, Spain, which opened the gateway to my love for traveling and exploring cultures of the world. It wasn’t much longer before I knew I needed to combine my USC coursework with my soft spot for helping others to make a difference within a small village in Ghana, Africa doing microfinance. After studying and volunteering abroad, the only logical next step was to experiment with working abroad. Next thing you know I landed a gig in Hong Kong for a summer, which was an experience of a lifetime...Oh and it didn’t stop there. I wasn’t entering Corporate America without a month long backpacking expedition through South America.

Along my journeys, I captured breathtaking pictures, learned invaluable lessons, and created everlasting memories.  Up until this point, 45,000+ photos I have taken were stored in Iphoto, lessons I learned were kept in the back of my mind, and my memories continued to slowly fade.  This led to the creation of passions & passports – the home for my endless exploration and curiosity for the world around me.
