Giving Back
Watching the news lately has been more depressing than ever, but instead of letting the negativity bring me down, I have decided to lookfor new ways to bring light and hope to everyone around me. My latest endeavor was when one of my volunteer leaders from Africa told me that he got accepted to go to college, but couldn't afford the $750 tuition fee. When I read this, I knew deep in my heart if I didn't help, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. I am a huge advocate of education, especially since I have had teachers who have left imprints on my life and influenced me a great deal. I also enjoy learning, and I think everyone should have the right to learn and make the world a better place. So, in under less than a week and more than 20 donations, I exceeded the goal I wanted to send Nana to school. Needless to say, I feel ever so grateful to all the people who have given back and taken the time to donate and support me and Nana. I was truly in awe at everyone's generosity, and was immediately brought to tears. To all those who donated and supported this endeavor, Nana and I can never thank you enough.
